Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford, is a British American musician, songwriter and guitarist who served as the lead guitarist in the all-girl hard rock group The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious lyrics made them popular within the world of rock. It wasn't possible for the group to be an instant hit in the United States, however, they enjoyed a great deal of acclaim in other nations particularly Japan. Ford had a long and successful career as a solo musician after the group broke up together in 1979. After taking voice lessons, Ford released her first self-titled album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin at the Edge". The albums of Ford were not particularly popular and she went on hiatus for several years. In 1988, Ford returned to the world of music with a smashing album called 'Lita. Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were two of her biggest songs. However, the popularity of her career was not lasting and over the course of several years she went under the radar. In 1995, she released "Black" and fifteen years later 'Wicked Wonderland. In 2016, her most recent album, 'Time Capsule, was made available. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
