Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actor. Also, she sings. Her mother raised her in the USA and she was subject to numerous racial slurs that caused her to feel as a non-person. As she entered the 9th grade she started to feel more secure after being applauded by her teachers for her performance at school's audition. It not only boosted her self-confidence but also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. She was a graduate of New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. She started her professional journey at the age of 23 in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and You've Got Mail in film. Her biggest breakthrough was when she appeared in the character in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway performance of Spamalot garnering not only an award called the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. She gained more recognition by appearing on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. A well-known performer, she has also recorded an album and a musical. Also, she's an activist and works hard in the fight for LGBT rights.
